How to choose a first plug, which lubricant to use, and how to go slowly and comfortably.
Choose a small first plug
A set with several sizes lets you start small and move up over time. Always use a toy with a flared or T-shaped base: the base is what stops it from going too far. Save large, long or textured plugs for later, once you know what you enjoy.
Lubricant matters most
The body does not make its own lubricant here, so use plenty and add more whenever you need it. Water-based lubricant is safe with every material and easy to clean. Do not use silicone-based lubricant on silicone toys.
Go slowly
Take your time, breathe out as you insert, and let the body relax around the toy. A little stretch is normal; pain is not. If something hurts, stop. Start with short sessions.
Hygiene
Wash the plug with warm water and mild soap before and after every use, and dry it fully. Never move a toy from anal to vaginal use without washing it first, or put a condom on it and change the condom.
